Is The Thanos Funko POP! Figure Worth Buying?

Infinity War Thanos Funko POP! Figure

It's no secret that I love Funko POP! Figures. I've got a whole shelf full of the addictive collectables, some of which I've featured on my blog. For example, the Iron Spider Funko POP! and the Tuxedo Mask Funko POP! have both featured here on Raspberrykiss. As have the Black Lady Funko POP! and the Deadpool as Bob Ross Funko POP! I've got a lot of really cool figures which I want to feature and one of them is for sure the Infinity War Thanos Funko POP!

The Thanos Funko POP! a big boy!

Out of all of the standard size Funko POPs I own I think it is safe to say that Thanos stands out like a sore thumb. When I first got him I stood him next to Beauty and The Beast's Belle and let me tell you, it was a comical size difference. Thanos stands at approximately 10cm but both his head and body are huge. Although Thanos has been relocated to join the rest of my Marvel collection, it doesn't matter where you look on my shelf, you are automatically drawn to him because he's just so big. Because of his big size, he stands wonderfully and doesn't topple over at all.

In terms of actual design, this is definitely one of my favourite pops. The figure is well made, has a brilliant flawless paint job and contains some wonderful detail. The Thanos Funko POP! Features a large, squared off, clean coloured lilac toned purple head complete with that signature big chin that we all know, big black eyes and a smug "I have the power" smile. As the Thanos Funko POP! is a Marvel figure, it features that signature bobblehead which I love and I think works particularly well with this specific large design.

Moving down we have one free purple arm as well as one arm covered by the copper-gold infinity gauntlet. Now for me, this is the star of the show. It's detailed, contains all of the pretty coloured infinity stones and the paint job is simply flawless. As for Thanos' attire, he's sporting minimal armour consisting of that same gold colour as the infinity gauntlet and a blue coloured front. He's also wearing tan coloured pants along with two big khaki coloured boots.

A POP! That feels like it's really good value for money

One thing I must say is that I love Thanos' stance. It screams "I am powerful!" Plus because he has that slightly crouched, knees bent position, it somewhat gives him the illusion of appearing even bigger. This is especially noticeable when he's in his box. Although I do feel that he looks a lot better out of the box as he kind of looks a little snug inside. This is both good and bad. In a positive sense, he's bigger than other Funkos that come in the same size box thus giving a better value for money feel. However, if you are someone who doesn't remove their figures from the boxes, his whole appearance isn't entirely visible when inside.

But all in all, I've gotta say I love the Infinity War Thanos Figure. I think the figure is absolutely awesome. It's a well-made POP! which contains a lovely bit of detail and I particularly love the colour scheme of the figure. I just feel like it is very clean and all the colours compliment each other really well. I feel like they captured Thanos in a really fun way without making him look too comical and cartoon-like or equally too stern and serious. After all, it is a Funko figure, they're meant to be fun.

Will you be getting your hands on this figure? What is your favourite Marvel figure?

Is The BTS Burn The Stage Movie Really Worth A Watch?

Is The BTS Burn The Stage Movie Really Worth A Watch?

As a big BTS fan inevitably I was going to end up watching their Burn The Stage movie. Not heard of BTS? Well BTS are a Korean boyband made up of seven members. There's Jimin, Jin, Jungkook, J-Hope, Suga, V and leader RM. I've talked about BTS quite a bit here on my blog. From talking about my favourite BTS tracks to sharing my favourite tracks on their Love Yourself: Answer album to even dissecting the BTS Idol video, I've shared a fair bit of love for the K-Pop group. BTS are basically a group who've exploded worldwide and nobody really saw it coming. Not even they saw it coming.

Now Burn The Stage The Movie is actually a follow on from the groups YouTube Red docuseries of the same title which was released back in March. In the film, you're taken on a behind the scenes journey as the group tour on their BTS Live Trilogy Episode III: The Wings Tour. You see each of the seven members both performing and away from all the fans as they prepare for each show and take time out inbetween each performance.

What is Burn The Stage The Movie actually about?

As I said early, the film shows behind the scenes footage of the septet on their Wings Tour. Now firstly, at the beginning of Burn The Stage, you're shown two ads. One for the BT21 characters and then another for the BTS Lightsticks. The second advert will seriously have you wanting to get your groove on. Then before you know it the movie begins. You are taken on a journey where you see fans showing the group love. You then see the band performing on their tour and you also see the behind the scenes footage. In the behind the scenes footage you see two things. BTS as normal regular young men and you see how hard they work.

It's no secret that the K-Pop industry is tough. Idols work super hard and really give it their all. BTS are no different. Throughout the film you see the seven guys suffering from injuries as they overwork themselves. You see the sheer amount of time and effort they put into every single performance. And then you see how much they sacrifice to achieve the success they have. Some scenes in the movie were hard to watch as I felt super bad for each member pushing themselves to the absolute limit. And what for? Us. The fans. Many would argue and say they do it for the money and in a sense that is what all artists do. However, BTS do genuinely care for their fans which is something else you see the seven members talk about frequently throughout the film.

My highlights of the film?

So what did I really love in the film? Well, my first highlight of Burn The Stage would definitely have to be J-Hope playing with V's dog Yeontan. Yeontan and J-Hope team up for a unique and very funny version of MIC Drop which is sure to make you giggle. Many have most likely seen this before but it's even better on the big screen. Another highlight for me? Mom Suga. As the rest of the group really let their hair down and act like the boys they are, Suga takes a more sophisticated approach. Instead, he opts for a glass of red instead. He basically sits at the side of the pool with his legs crossed sipping away as the rest of the members jump in and splash about. It's a total mood, trust me.

Other highlights? Their interviews were brilliant towards the end of the picture. They showed each member quite stripped back away from the spotlight and their usual comical and energetic personas. The group share heartfelt words and talked raw about their experiences of being part of one of the biggest boybands in the world. They also share their love and respect for their ARMY and it is so obviously genuine unlike a lot of other artists.

Things I wasn't so keen on

All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed the film. However, there were a couple of things that I wasn't keen on. Firstly the narrator. Now I liked the whole concept of the narrator and the fact that there were deep meaningful messages spoken. However, the narrator was a totally random guy, aside for the very end of Burn The Stage when Suga took over that is. I feel like the movie really should have been narrated entirely by the BTS members but hey ho, the dudes are busy enough without having to do that too! My second complaint? The lack of music. Now don't get me wrong, there were snippets of music here and there but they were often interrupted by the narrator right as the tune was about to kick in.

Now I know this wasn't a concert movie, it was a documentary. However, at points, I honestly felt like I was being teased with snippets here and there. Guess it just goes to show that BTS songs really do leave you wanting more! Aside from my two little qualms, I really did enjoy the movie and I do recommend giving it a watch. I always love seeing BTS stipped back so this film was right up my street. It's also worth mentioning that Burn The Stage has done very well globally. So well in fact that it has been given an encore and will be released again on the 5th and 6th of December so if you want to view it, keep your eyes peeled for dates at your local cinema.

Have you seen Burn The Stage? Who is your favourite BTS member?

3 Great Tracks Your Should Listen To In November 2018

3 Great Tracks Your Should Listen To In November 2018

Steve Aoki ft BTS - Waste It On Me

The first of the 3 great tracks you should listen to in November 2018 is Steve Aoki ft BTS - Waste It On Me. Now although this track does feature BTS, not all members actually feature on the track. You only actually hear members Jungkook and RM with a hint of Jimin during the chorus. However, that doesn't mean to say the track is a letdown, because it isn't. Unlike previous BTS tracks, this song is entirely in English. Now, this isn't the first time DJ Steve Aoki has worked with the band. Steve has previously remixed the track MIC Drop and even featured on the Love Yourself: Tear Album. Now he's got BTS featuring on his very own track and the song certainly pleased my ears.

Waste It On Me is a chilled toe-tapping track that features brassy synths. The track is very smooth and showcases Jungkook's wonderful vocals with pops of Jimin's angelic voice in the chorus. Also in the track not only do we hear RM's unique rap skills, but we also hear Namjoon sing which is always a treat. I think this is a great track featuring BTS. Plus undeniably it is one aimed more at the Western market compared to other tracks featuring the Korean boyband. In my eyes, this is a good thing as it means the group is being recognised and taken seriously more globally.

Of Mice & Men - Back To Me

The second of the 3 great tracks you should listen to in November 2018 is Of Mice and Men - Back To Me. Of Mice and Men have produced some absolute bangers over the years like Second and Sebring but be warned this track isn't for the faint-hearted. If you're not a fan of screaming and heavy language, I'd give this one a miss. However, Back To Me is much toned down in the sense it contains no screaming. This could be due to the fact the Of Mice & Men have a new lead singer after Austin Carlile stepped down due to health reasons before the track was created.

Now although the track kinda sways away from Of Mice & Men's signature metalcore sound, at its heart it is still noticeably the band's work. Despite not being super heavy and intense as a lot of their other tracks, it's still recognisably Of Mice & Men. If I'm being really controversial I'd even go as far as saying this track kinda has a more mainstream sound. However, that isn't necessarily a bad thing as I think it could mean that more people discover the band. However, I think that fans of that really heavy sound may be left feeling a little disappointed and left down.

Regardless the track is empowering with pretty clean vocals. It has an infectious chorus that you can't help singing along to. Plus it kinda gives you a glimpse into the groups new era and updated sound. Oh and it's also worth noting that this track isn't super new. However, it was released on Of Mice & Men's most recent album Defy which came out at the start of the year.

Key ft Soyou - Forever Yours

The third of the 3 great tracks you should listen to in November 2018 is Key ft Soyou - Forever Yours. Now you may know Key from K-Pop group SHINee who I mentioned in my September music favourites, August music favourites and my June music favourites. Well, Key has basically launched his solo career and his first track released from his upcoming album is Forever Yours. Forever Yours is a catchy track that combines tropical beats with a hint of synthpop. The song in a lot of ways has a similar feel to some of SHINee's newer material such as Countless and I Want You which I simply love.

Also on the track is Soyou who many will know from the now no more girl group Sistar who disbanded over a year ago.  The first voice you hear on the track is Soyou's which is very soft and sweet. Am I a massive fan? Not really but the addiction isn't utterly terrible. It just seems to get a little washed out as the track goes on and on. Even more so when Key's vocals come in. Overall the track is catchy. The chorus gets you grooving and if it had more English lyrics I could definitely see the Western top 40 taking a shine to it.

The 4 Best Songs On The BTS Love Yourself: Answer Album

The 4 Best Songs On The BTS Love Yourself: Answer Album

Now that the BTS Love Yourself: Answer album has been out for a little while I've had a good chance to listen to all the tracks to death and I feel like now is the right time to share what four songs I think are the best. Love Yourself: Answer is a brilliant album from the Korean boyband that has a great positive message. In my opinion, each song on the album is excellent and there isn't a single track that I'm not a fan of. With the album being a repackage this means that songs from other albums in the Love Yourself series are also included. However, there are also seven new songs. The four songs I've mentioned are all new songs that the band haven't featured on any other album before. This doesn't mean to say that I don't like the previously heard before songs. I just thought I'd share my top four new songs.

As previously stated I really do love this album. I preordered the physical album from HMV and I've been very impressed with it. The packaging is super pretty although I did receive the wrong sleeve for my cover as on the side it reads the wrong character. However, this is a known issue and I have requested a new sleeve from Big Hit, so it's all good. I also got my first photo card! I was lucky to receive V's photocard who just happens to be one of my favourites. Anyway, enough chatter, onto the four best songs. Well in my eyes anyway.

The first of the 4 best songs on the BTS Love Yourself: Answer album is obviously the title track Idol. I did a whole blog post on BTS Idol when it was released and my love for the track has only grown since then. Idol is a high energy track that is a mix of South African beats, hip-hop and EDM. It's one of those songs that you can't help but dance to. It's catchy, upbeat and features BTS proclaiming self-love. The video to the track is also well worth a watch. If you're a BTS fan it features many, many references which will make you smile. However, if you're new to the group you'll be treated to an explosion of colour as well as some brilliant choreography and visuals from the seven talented guys.

I'm Fine

The second of the 4 best songs on the BTS Love Yourself: Answer album is I'm Fine. Now if you've heard BTS - Save Me, this is basically a follow on from that track. It features the same addictive beat but the story has progressed. I think BTS have been very clever with these two tracks as not only have they created two excellent tracks, they've also tackled the subject of mental health. I also love the fact that the group have used an Ambigram in their promotions. Not sure what an Ambigram is? Basically, it's a word or symbol which reads or looks different from different perspectives. In this case, Save Me reads and appears as I'm Fine when turned upside down. Basically, it is a very clever visual.

In terms of the actual song, I'm Fine has a really good rhythm to it, powerful lyrics and some absolutely stunning vocals. I personally love V's opening lines and RM's rap verse where he states "How you doin? Im fine, My sky is clear,  All pain, say goodbye, Goodbye" Suga's super fast rap is also equally as impressive. In terms of actual genre, I'd say the track has a very drum and bass vibe to it. Listen below to the Save Me and I'm Fine compilation to see Ambigram and the two tracks side by side.

Answer: Love Myself

The third of the 4 best songs on the BTS Love Yourself: Answer album is Answer: Love Myself. Out of all the tracks, I'd say this is the sweetest and soppiest song on the album but that isn't a bad thing. The song is an emotional mid-tempo ballad which tells us how important it is to love ourselves. The song features some absolutely beautiful lines from the group's vocalists but the rapped lines also surprisingly work very effectively too. My favourite line of the song? "You show me I have reasons I should love myself" The song is the perfect track to bring their excellent Love Yourself series to a close.

Trivia: Just Dance

And the fourth and final of the 4 best songs on the BTS Love Yourself: Answer album is Trivia: Just Dance. This track is a solo song from member J-Hope and you can tell straight away as it features his signature vibe which we heard on his solo mixtape Hope World. The track is a funky hip-hop song which reminds me both of Daydream and Hope World. It's an excellent track and slots nicely into the album.

Have you got your hands on Love Yourself: Answer yet? What did you think of the album?

How To Get Your Hands On The Iron Spider Funko POP! In The UK

Iron Spider With Legs Funko POP! Figure

As a Funko POP! lover, I am always on the lookout for new and fun POP! figures to collect. A range I've particularly been enjoying recently has been the Marvel range. Ever since I got my hands on my Deadpool as Bob Ross Funko POP! I've wanted more and more Marvel figures. I think when it comes to the figures they've been designed really well and I love the addition of the bobblehead. One of the most recent Marvel Funko POP! Figures I got my hands on was The Iron Spider with legs. Peter ever so kindly got me the brilliant pop and I've got to say, I really like this figure. Now if you do want to get your hands on this figure it is worth noting it is exclusive to ASDA stores.

A figure that stands out in my collection

Out of all of my figures, I'd say this is one of the ones that stand out the most. Iron Spider with legs consists of a red, blue and gold bobblehead figure with four spider legs wrapped around. The legs are wrapped snugly round Iron Spider which looks very effective. The paint job on the figure is pretty great with minimal bleeding so I can't really complain. I really love the contrast of the colours in this pop. The webbing on the head and the eyes are also top notch. One thing also worth pointing out is that Iron Spider with legs has a beautiful metallic finish which is so effective and pleasing on the eye.

Something that I did fear was that Iron Spider with legs wouldn't stand right as he is quite top heavy. However, he is just fine and is nice and steady standing on my shelf. I've had no issues at all with him toppling over, unlike other POPs I own. Ahem Joyce from Stranger Things, I'm looking at you. All in all, I've gotta say, this is a really nice POP. It's different and unique from others in my collection and I am so thankful to Peter for getting me him. I know not everyone is a fan of the bobblehead Funkos but I really like them and think the feature only adds to the awesomeness of this particular figure.

A fantastic addition to any Marvel or Spiderman lover's Funko POP! Collection

If you're a lover of Marvel or Spiderman, or you just like really great Funko POP! Figures I'd definitely recommend checking Iron Spider with legs out. I know not every single ASDA store is stocking this but my small local store did so yours may too. Regardless, I think that this is a nice exclusive to have in your collection and I personally would have tracked it down if I had had to because let's be honest, he really is pretty damn cool.

Are you a fan of the Iron Spider with legs Funko POP? Will you be getting your hands on him?

Why Sierra Burgess Is a Loser Is Really Not Worth Watching

Why Sierra Burgess Is a Loser Is Really Not Worth Watching

When it comes to movies I'll pretty much watch anything and everything. One of my favourite genres from when I was younger was definitely teen rom-coms. I loved films like John Tucker Must Die, The Princess Diaries and Mean Girls. Now don't get me wrong, nowadays I still love and appreciate a lot of teen rom-coms from my early teen years. However, I've moved on from the more soppy and unrealistic flicks as I find myself kinda cringing at them. Not long back I gave To All The Boys I've Loved Before a watch on Netflix and let me tell you, I loved it. I loved how it wasn't super sickly sweet but there was great chemistry and I adored how well both Lana Condor and Noah Centineo played their parts. The story kept me interested, it flowed well and all in all I enjoyed it. After watching the film I was then recommended Sierra Burgess Is A Loser as another teen rom-com flick.

Doesn't even come close to To All The Boys I've Loved Before

Did Sierra Burgess Is A Loser compare to the wonderful To All The Boys I've Loved Before? Hell no. In fact, I'd even go as far as saying it kinda narked me in more ways than one. Firstly for those unaware SBIAL is a movie which follows Sierra Burgess, a smart but unpopular teen who dreams of getting into a top university. Sierra isn't a slim chick, she's like me, a larger than average lady and when I first saw the film advertised I was like "Yes! Something I can relate to!" However, in reality, that was not the case. In the flick, Sierra's number is given to Jamey, a sweet football player by Veronica, a popular mean girl who attempts to make Sierra's life miserable. Jamey thinks he is receiving Veronica's number and proceeds to unknowingly message Sierra.

The two basically begin flirting and then Sierra realises that Jamey thinks he is texting someone else who she later finds out to be Veronica. Long story short Sierra tells her best bud Dan who tells her she's catfishing Jamey and that is is illegal to which Sierra defends herself by saying that they're her words that Jamey is reading and taking a liking to, not Veronica's. This is pretty much where the film gets really messed up. Sierra then approaches Veronica who's upset after being dumped by her college boyfriend and she offers to help Veronica seem more mature and intellectual to appeal to her ex and win him back. In exchange, Sierra asks for Veronica to help her continue to talk to Jamey.

There are a lot of eyebrow-raising moments in the film

Veronica surprisingly accepts and the two start helping each other out. Later in the film, Jamey asks Sierra to go on a date, still thinking she is in fact, Veronica. Veronica then attends the date for Sierra and at one point makes Jamey close his eyes for a kiss whilst Sierra comes in and kisses him. At this point, Jamey obviously thinks he is kissing Veronica. I particularly hate this part as it makes it seem acceptable to just forget all about consent. Another terrible part for me is when Sierra and Dan spot Jamey outside with his deaf brother.

Not wanting Jamey to recognise her voice Sierra then pretends that she is also deaf. This point of the film is just sick and so morally wrong. It just made me dislike the character even more. Then we have the ending of the film. Basically, Jamey kisses Veronica, Sierra sees this and is hurt. What she doesn't see is Veronica angry at Jamey for doing this but obviously, the poor guy has no idea what is really going on. At this point, Sierra is raging at Veronica and decides to expose the fact that Veronica's boyfriend dumped her over DM. Oh and she pops this on the big screen at the football game. Veronica then tells Jamey the truth. Sierra approaches him and tries to explain but Jamey tells them both to just stay the hell away and who can blame him?

Sierra Burgess Is A Loser has a TERRIBLE ending

As for the ending, Sierra writes an apology song titled Sunflower for Veronica and then Veronica sends the song to Jamey. He then decides to forgive Sierra and takes her to homecoming. The dude even brings her a sunflower and expresses that she is his type. They kiss, go to homecoming and then Veronica and Sierra as seen hugging it all out. That is pretty much the entire movie. Now let me tell you, this film is SO flawed. Like the ending alone is shocking. To put it mildly, Sierra was an absolute dick in the film. She did NOT deserve that happy ending. She didn't deserve Jamey and she certainly didn't deserve the forgiveness of Veronica.

I just felt throughout the film I started to dislike Sierra more and more. Don't get me wrong I love Shannon Purser. I thought she was brilliant as Barb in Stranger Things but in this, I just couldn't like her character. On the other hand, I loved the character of Jamey, I thought Noah Centineo played him well which was one of the very few good points about the film. I just didn't get on with the film at all. Not only did it make consent seem like it didn't matter there were also both transphobic and homophobic jokes throughout the film. Then we have the offensive scene in which Sierra pretends to be deaf. There was just way too much bad stuff going on for my liking that I couldn't just "let slide."

Sierra Burgess Is A Loser could have been brilliant but it fell flat

Sierra Burgess Is A Loser just sort of made it out like saying and doing these sort of offensive and morally wrong things is acceptable. We live in 2018. Times have changed for the better. The morally wrong parts of Sierra Burgess Is A Loser really made the film feel dated.  I honestly believe that with a better script this film could have been really great. Like if they cut all the offensiveness and made the film more about the girl's friendship it could have been top notch.

The film had a strong cast but the story just didn't deliver. It left me feeling really let down when the end credits started to roll and kinda like I had wasted my time. This isn't the first time I've felt this way when it comes to a Netflix movie. Heck, I even wrote a post on films you should avoid. Fingers crossed the next Nexflix film I watch isn't quite as bad!

6 Epic Songs You Should Listen To This September

6 Epic Songs You Should Listen To This September

I am a HUGE music lover. My taste varies so much and my love for artists grows daily. I posted quite a few music blog posts on my other blog for those as music-obsessed as myself. Anyway, so far this month I've been listening to a lot of new music but I thought I'd share six of my favourites today.

5 Seconds Of Summer - Youngblood

The first of the six songs that I recommend you listen to this month is 5 Seconds Of Summer - Youngblood. Now I know 5 Seconds Of Summer aren't everyone's cup of tea. Heck, I'm not really keen on any of their songs. However, this is SO different from their other songs. Youngblood has a much more mature feel compared to their other songs and features an awesome thumping beat. Along with its addictive rhythm, the song also combines delicate beautiful vocals with a stronger more booming chorus.

BTS - I'm Fine

The second of the six epic songs I recommend you listen to is BTS - I'm Fine. Earlier on my blog, I shared my thoughts on BTS IDOL from the Love Yourself: Answer album. I'm Fine also features on the album. The track is a euphoric EDM masterpiece that contains some really beautiful motivational lyrics. The song is also a follow on from the group's previous track Save Me. This might sound odd as the two tracks have polar opposite messages however, I'm Fine shows the progression in the Love Yourself series story. Plus it features that ear-pleasing beat from Save Me. Check out the video below where the group perform the two tracks together, thus showcasing the story. Trust me, it's extremely good and very clever.

Sigala - Just Got Paid

The third track you need to check out is Sigala - Just Got Paid. This track features big names like Ella Eyre, Meghan Trainor and French Montana. If you're looking for a feel-good track to get your groove on to, look no further. The contrast between Ella's deep vocals and Meghan's high pitched voice on the track is genius. French Montana's contribution is also surprisingly effective. That being said the true stand out point is the groovy disco trumpet sounds that the track features which I think is sure to make this a big hit.

Years and Years - All For You

The fourth of the epic songs you need to have blaring out your speakers is Years and Years - All For You. Years and Years are forever bringing out the catchiest tunes and All For You is no exception. The track has a quick tempo and is surprisingly bright and upbeat considering the songs is pretty much about a relationship failing. Regardless of the lyrics of the song singer Olly's vocals are on point as ever.

SHINee - Countless

The fifth song you need to check out is SHINee - Countless. I mentioned SHINee in my 6 superb songs to listen to in August and this month I'm mentioning the K-Pop group once again. Now it is no secret that I LOVE SHINee. For me, their vocals really do set them apart as all members have such distinctive beautiful voices. Countless features tropical sounds and an excellent beat that'll have you tapping your toes. The song is a dance number but more of a chilled dance track rather than an EDM banger. If you've listened to the band's Story Of Light series this track fits in well.

Disturbed - Are You Ready

The sixth and final song that I think you should listen to this month is Disturbed - Are You Ready. Now I know that this song has received pretty mixed reviews with many say that it is pretty much Disturbed doing Disturbed and I do agree. However, I still really do like the track. It's energetic and it features the unique and satisfying vocals of Mr David Draiman. I mean what more could you want?

How To Get Your Hands On Affordable Comics In The UK

How To Get Your Hands On Affordable Comics In The UK - Deadpool, The Punisher, Gwenpool, Darth Vader and More

Recently one thing I've been really into is reading. I've specifically been really into reading graphic novels and comics. For a while now I've been into reading manga. I'm a big fan of the likes of Sailor Moon, Sailor V and Cardcaptor Sakura but one of my new loves has been superhero comics and sometimes anti-hero comics if we're being all technical here. I've not got a huge collection of comics but I have a respectable little collection that I'm very nearly through reading. One thing I have noticed though is that here in the UK graphic novels and comics can be a little on the expensive side. This is frustrating but with a little research, I found a store that sells them at quite affordable prices, well compared to other stores I've looked at. That store? The Works believe it or not.

Affordable Deadpool graphic novels

Seriously, if you wanna get your hands on a few affordable comics to keep you occupied, check out The Works. As a big Deadpool fan, I picked up every available Deadpool comic which they had in stock and now part of me wants to create my own little Deadpool dedicated shelf on my bookcase, complete with my Deadpool as Bob Ross Funko POP! Anyway, the first book I picked up was Deadpool - The Complete Collection which contains episodes 50-63. You can probably imagine it is quite a big book. I believe this RRPs at around £29 but The Works are selling it for £10 which I think is pretty damn good.

If you're a big fan of the merc with a mouth then you'll probably love to have this in your collection. The second of the bigger Deadpool graphic novels I got my hands on was Deadpool Firsts. This again set me back £10 and contains a collection of stories from various series. This, in my opinion, is the ideal book to get for those new to both Deadpool and comics.

Comics from as little as £5

As for the smaller comics, they set me back £5 each. However, considering the RRPs are between £12.50 and £16.99 I think I got myself a good deal. The first of the smaller books I got was Deadpool MAX - Involuntary Armageddon. This comic sees Wade Wilson ditch his job as Deadpool to spend the rest of his life with his blushing bride. Obviously, that's not really what happens but I don't want to spoil it for anyone. The next book I got was Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe. This is for sure one of my favourites. The title of this is pretty self-explanatory, to be honest.

Another one of my favourites is Deadpool Kills Deadpool in which Deadpool attempts to kill himself in various forms. Other favourites of mine that I picked up include Deadpool and Cable - Split Second as well as Deadpool vs Thanos. Both of which contain Deadpool alongside two other awesome characters who I love.

Even more affordable comics from The Works

As for non-Deadpool graphic novels, I got my hands on three. The first? The Unbelievable Gwenpool - Volume 1 which cost me £5. Now let me tell you I LOVED this. Not heard of Gwenpool? Basically, she was a regular comic book reader who woke up in the Marvel universe. She's super beautiful, funny and has no skills or training. Basically, I love her. The second non-Deadpool book I got my hands on was The Punisher - The Complete Collection Vol 1 for £10. Now let me tell you, I thoroughly enjoyed this. The story follows Frank Castle, a guy who lost his wife and kids to the mob and has since become an unstoppable man who likes to kill. The story is super interesting and has been one of my favourite reads.

And last but not least I got my hands on the hardback Star Wars - Darth Vader which set me back £10. I've not got round to reading this yet. However, let's be honest, Darth Vader is one of the greatest antagonists of all time so it should be amazing. In fact, it isn't a case of should be amazing, it will be amazing.

3 Films That You Should For Sure Avoid Watching

3 Films That You Should For Sure Avoid Watching

How It Ends

The first of the three films that you should avoid is How It Ends. This flick had been in my Netflix list for a while so one Sunday myself and Peter decided to finally get around to watching it. Not heard of How It Ends? Well, it is a thriller action disaster film which stars famous faces like Theo James who starred in Divergent and Forest Whitaker who you may know from the likes of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story amongst various other movies. Anyway, the story basically follows Will (Theo James) as he flies to Chicago to visit his pregnant partner Sam's parents. The purpose of the trip? He intends to ask Sam's disapproving father Tom (Forest Whitaker) for permission to marry her. Things don't really go to plan when the two males get into an argument over the dinner table.

Anyway, the next day you see Sam call Will before he is supposed to catch his flight back to Seattle. Basically, the call gets cut, all flights get cancelled and on the TV there are reports of a seismic event off the West Coast of the United States. This event has disrupted electricity and phone lines in Chicago. Not really knowing what to do Will returns to Sam's parent's house where he and Tom decide to travel to Seattle together by car to find Sam.

Don't waste two hours of your life

Pretty much the film sees the two trying to survive their journey whilst coming across various obstacles. Now don't get me wrong the film was interesting but at times it was a tad slow and I kinda had the urge to fast forward. But the real reason why I don't recommend the film? Well put it this way, the film's title is pretty damn ironic because you don't get to find out how it bloody ends. Two hours of my life I wasted to find out NOTHING. Raging I was. Basically, Will tracks down Sam, an earthquake triggers a large eruption which causes a pyroclastic flow and the pair are seen driving away from the cloud. Do they survive? WHO KNOWS BECAUSE I DON'T!

Now in the film's defence, they probably ended the film in the diabolical way they did so they had the option of making a sequel. However, I genuinely feel like I wasted a couple hours of my life. I mean the title of the film REALLY gets my back up. Anyway, enough said on that or I'll be typing away here all day ranting and sharing my disgust. To sum it up? Don't bother with the film. Instead, spend the time watching a few episodes of Kim's Convenience. It is FAR more entertaining, won't let you down and certainly won't put you in a bad mood after watching.

The second film I think you should steer clear of is Birthmarked. This was another film I found on Netflix. Now don't get me wrong Birthmarked wasn't what I would consider being terrible. However, it was so damn slow and at times it was really tough to get through. Believe it or not Peter and I was so bored during the film that halfway through we went upstairs for a nap. Yeah, it was that bad. I would have scrapped the entire film there and then but my "I've started something so I'll finish it" attitude kicked in.

What's the film about you ask? Well, it is about Ben (Matthew Goode) and Catherine (Toni Collette) a couple who are respected scientists who quit their jobs to take on a big experiment. The experiment? Raising three kids against genetic predispositions. The pair seek to prove that everyone has the same potential to become anything they choose. The question they tackle? Are we born as we are or can we blame our parents for who we become? Now on paper, the film sounded really interesting and right up my street. In reality? It was as dull as dishwater. Seriously.

I can't even really go into much detail about what actually happened in the film because it was just so forgettable. The story had potential but the execution just wasn't there I'm afraid. My favourite part? The end. My reason? It was so damn tough to get through and felt way longer than it's runtime of an hour and a half.

Everything, Everything

The third and final film that I recommend you just avoid like the plague is Everything, Everything. Now I know I'm probably going to get a bit of stick for including this flick. However, I'm gonna be honest, I thought it was pants. The romantic drama Everything, Everything follows the story of Maddy (Amandla Stenberg) a young lady who cannot go outside due to so-called suffering from a rare illness. Her neighbour Olly (Nick Robinson) wants to help her experience life and the pair (predictably) end up falling for each other.

The reason I disliked the film so much? Well, it was SO predictable. You could see the "twists" coming from a mile off. Not only that but in a lot of places, the film was just wildly far-fetched. I mean I understand it's a film, it isn't real and it certainly isn't a documentary but at times I found myself just constantly eye rolling. I mean maybe I'm just too old to appreciate the film? Perhaps it's just meant for those really naive younger viewers who crave that kinda film? What I do know is that the film wasn't for me and if you're anything like me I doubt you'll enjoy this movie.

What films have you watched lately that you just didn't enjoy?

2 Super Awesome Mobile Games I'm Addicted To

2 Super Awesome Mobile Games I'm Addicted To - PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) and Hungry Dragon

I absolutely love gaming. I enjoy gaming on various platforms and consoles. From playing Mafia 3 and Resident Evil 7 on my Xbox. To spending hours playing the Sims 3 and Left 4 Dead on my PC. To even playing Animal Crossing New Leaf and Tomodachi Life on my DS. I even really enjoy gaming on my phone believe it or not. Every now and again I come across a mobile game that I become completely hooked on. This month I've discovered two incredibly addictive games so you can imagine my battery has been absolutely drained.

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG)

The first of the two awesome mobile games I'm addicted to is PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds. PUBG is an online multiplayer battle royale game. Basically, if you're familiar with the super duper well-known game Fortnite then this pretty much has the same premise. In PUBG there are 100 players who parachute onto a remote 8x8km island. Each player must defeat every player in the battleground whilst being forced into a shrinking play zone. Also in the game, you have to locate and scavenge weapons, vehicles and supplies to be able to actually survive and defeat other players.

The game is surprisingly addictive. Especially if you play as part of a team made up of your friends. I for one have loved playing it with Pete as we've has some pretty hilarious times driving around together in the various vehicles available. The only downfall? There have been a couple of times when I have been booted from the server. This is extremely frustrating but hey ho, there isn't much that I can do. However, I think if I'd have paid for the game I would be more annoyed. Thankfully PUBG Mobile is free to play so I can't complain too much.

Hungry Dragon

The second of the two awesome mobile games I'm addicted to is Hungry Dragon. This is a game that recently became available to download after being exclusively available in Asia for a little while. Now I've talked about Hungry Shark before and Hungry Dragon is pretty much the same game only with dragons, a different map and some slightly different rewards and what not. The idea is you play as a dragon and fly around the medieval map eating as much as you can to stay alive, score points and collect coins. In doing so you can unlock bigger dragons as well as special costumes that give you some pretty awesome perks.

The premise of the game is really simple but it is incredibly addictive as you end up wanting to beat your high score over and over again and get your hands on bigger dragons and handy pets. The graphics are also super duper pretty and I love the many easter eggs throughout the game like the randomly placed Tardis. If you're after a great game to pass the time that is super pretty on the eye, you need to give Hungry Dragon a go.

Are you a fan of mobile gaming? What kind of games do you like to pass the time with?

Is The Tuxedo Mask Funko POP! One Of The Best From The Sailor Moon Range?

Tuxedo Mask Funko POP! Figure

I Love Sailor Moon. I think I made that quite clear when I shared my love for the Black Lady Funko POP! to be honest. I've got a fair few Sailor Moon POP! Figures and one of my favourites most certainly has to be Tuxedo Mask. Now I know Tuxedo Mask gets a lot of stick. Many seem to think he's just a guy who turns up, throws a rose and claims he's seriously contributed when it comes to helping. He's even become a meme. Now although the whole Tuxedo Mask turning up and pretty much doing nothing is somewhat true in certain cases, he does have his useful powers. For instance, he's got psychic powers. He can read past, present and future events and he can even heal others' wounds. He's certainly not a useless character in my opinion, in fact, I think he is awesome.

He's that awesome that I got my hands on the TM Funko POP! Figure. Much like the other Funko POPs Tuxedo Mask has a large head but what sets him apart from the rest is his large top hat and his signature white mask. Tuxedo Mask also sports a tuxedo with yellow buttons. Obviously. His jacket is also open revealing his white shirt and upon his back is a black coloured cape that is lined with red. The dude also dons black shoes, white gloves and of course a single red rose.

One of the best Funko POP! Figures from the Sailor Moon Range

Like I mentioned earlier I have a lot of Sailor Moon Funko POP! figures. Out of all of them, Tuxedo Mask is for sure one of my absolute favourites. However, I do have my other favourites from the collection too. I mean obviously, I love Sailor Moon and the little Luna figure that comes with her. Also in my favourites is Sailor Venus and little Artemis, Sailor Neptune and Chibi Moon. I am also loving my three newer limited edition Sailor Moon pops which are Black Lady, Sailor V and Queen Beryl.

When it comes to completing my collection I really only want to get the three-piece Neo Queen Serenity, Small Lady & King Endymion set. The problem? I am really struggling to get my hands on the set here in the UK especially at a reasonable price. If I wanted I could probably get my hands on one for around £70+ but realistically I just don't think I can justify that. I mean think of all the other things I could buy with the money. I could get a few easier to get hold of Pop figures for example.

I'm also aware that there is another Sailor Moon POP where she is holding a Moon Stick and I've also discovered a Super Sailor Moon. However, these again aren't easy to get hold of here in the United Kingdom and would cost an arm and a leg. Plus in all honesty, I'm not too bothered about them. I know, I am a terrible fan! The thing is though I already have a Sailor Moon figure. In fact, in all honesty, I've got two of the same. Don't ask. So I don't feel the need to get the other versions but that could all change in the future. Anyway, for now, I'm just enjoying my current collection.

Are you a Sailor Moon fan? Is Tuxedo Mask a character you love?

Is Mafia 3 Buggy and Repetitive or Fun and Entertaining?

Mafia 3 Game For Xbox One

One of the many, many games I've been loving over the past few months has been Mafia 3. This is an excellent action-adventure game that was released in 2016. The game takes place in the fictional town of New Bordeaux in the year 1968. The fictional town of New Bordeaux is supposed to be set in New Orleans and the story of the game follows a man named Lincoln Clay. Lincoln is a Vietnam veteran and orphan who's goal is to build a new crime organisation to confront the Italian mob.

You play as Mr Clay to complete various objectives in the open world environment. When playing from a third-person perspective you can eliminate enemies using weapons or call for allies to assist. If that isn't your thing then alternatively you can use stealth tactics to go undetected. Personally, I feel the game is playing using a combination of the two by using melee-combat, stealth tactics and the weapons provided.

Mafia 3 is not just a shooting game

One of the main reasons why I love Mafia 3 is the fact that it isn't just a shooting game. There are a fair few things that you can do rather than just shooting and taking down enemies. You can drive around and collect items like communist propaganda, album covers and various magazines. You can also hunt for fuses which can be used to wiretap junction boxes. By doing this you are able to see all the collectables on the map as well as more fuses so you can unlock even more junction boxes in the game.

Mafia 3 is kind of like Grand Theft Auto but set in the past

If I were to compare Mafia 3 to another game it kind of reminds me a little of GTA but obviously, it does have its differences. I mean for one it is set in an entirely different period of time. As well as loving the variety if the game another thing that really impressed me was the game's soundtrack. If you like the sounds of Aretha Franklin, Elvis and Johnny Cash then the soundtrack will definitely tickle your fancy.

Anyway, back to the actual gameplay. Because the game is set back in 1968 it is no surprise that a large focus is on racial tension. In this year anti-war sentiment was growing with many wanting the struggle in Vietnam to end. Also in this year, Martin Luther King Jr was assassinated. I think the makers of the game really highlighted the fact that these issues needed to be raised when they created the character, Lincoln Clay. I mean he's both a mixed-race man and a Vietnam veteran.

Mafia 3 can be repetitive but it is still fun and entertaining

When it comes to critical response to Mafia 3 it received mixed reviews. One thing that was mentioned a lot was the fact that many thought the game was repetitive. To an extent, I would totally agree. It can be repetitive. However, if you get engrossed in the story and switch things up, the game can be fun and entertaining. I personally quite enjoy taking my time looking on the map and collecting things, especially when I am not in the mood to confront enemies. However, if this isn't your style then I'd give the game a miss.

My only real issue with Mafia 3 is the fact that it can be buggy. This is super frustrating and at times it has made me want to switch off the entire game. Apart from the buggy issue, I have actually really been enjoying the game. Is it my absolute favourite game in the world? Hell no. But I liked it. At one point it was one of the games I was obsessed with. Do I love the game quite as much as I used to? Not so much but I do think it is an enjoyable game to pass the time. I just personally prefer other games in my collection like Resident Evil 7 and the BioShock series.

Have you played Mafia 3? Are you more of a stealth lover or do you prefer to go in all guns blazing?

6 Superb Songs I’ve Been Listening To Non Stop In August

Seungri Where R U From Playing On My Tablet

Last month's monthly music favourites contained just three songs. Although they were absolute tunes, this month I've been listening to six tracks on repeat. Some of the tracks are new whilst others are older. When it comes to music I listen to a whole bunch of artists from all different eras. Of course I have my favourites like BTS but to be honest I pretty much enjoy all genres. I think that sort of explains why sometimes my monthly music faves are a weird and wonderful mix. But you know what? I love each and every different track and that is all that matters. Anyway, enough rambling, onto my faves.

Selena Gomez - Back To You

The first of the 6 superb songs I've been listening to in August has been Selena Gomez - Back To You. This track is a sort of dance-pop song with a very slight country vibe to it. The track has a catchy beat teamed up with emotional lyrics which makes it incredibly beautiful. It is a refreshing take on your standard Summer anthem. The song is also the lead single for the second series of the Netflix original 13 Reasons Why.

Skillet - Hero

The second of the 6 superb songs I've been listening to in August has been Skillet - Hero. This isn't the first time I've mentioned the Christian rock band here on my blog. Skillet also featured in April 2018 music favourites. This months song I'm obsessed with, Hero, is a track from way back in 2009. The song is said to talk about mankind's need for a hero who in their eyes is Jesus. I'm personally not really religious but I love this track. Plus it can be interpreted in various ways. The track is an edgy hard rock song with incredibly catchy lyrics.

SHINee - Our Page

The third of the 6 superb songs I've been listening to in August has been SHINee - Our Page. Now I featured SHINee in my June 2018 music favourites and I mentioned member Jonghyun's solo track back in my March 2018 music favourites. So it is safe to say they are a band that I really love. One of their most recent tracks Our Page has been getting a lot of love from me this month. The track is an emotional one with the messages of  "This unfinished novel, we'll fill it until the last page." and "We will be together until the end." The track is dedicated to member Jonghyun who sadly took his own life last year. The track is delicate yet powerful and incredibly beautiful. The music video is also truly stunning.

Max George - Barcelona

The fourth of the 6 superb songs I've been listening to in August has been Max George - Barcelona. You may remember Max from the British boy band The Wanted who split in 2014. Well, now Max is back with his solo single. Barcelona is an EDM pop infusion and is pretty much made to be a Summer anthem. It is a super feel-good song with a brilliant melody. The song really showcases Max's voice well and kind of reminds me of something Liam Payne would release. Also for those Love Island fans (Not me sorry, it isn't my cup of tea!) islander, Laura features in the video as Max's love interest.

Seungri - Where R U From

The fifth of the 6 superb songs I've been listening to in August has been Seungri - Where R U From. I mentioned Big Bang member Seungri's previous single 1,2,3! last month in my July 2018 music favourites and this month I've fallen in love with another track of his. Where R U From is a track that is almost identical to a track viral Kpop sensation Psy would release. It has Psy's signature beat as well as a similar style of choreography. The video even fits Psy's comical style with Seungri mocking Donald Trump and Kim Jong Un. The video also contains many Kpop references. These include Seungri resembling a panda, a name that his fans have given him. Also in the video is comedian Yoo Byung Jae dressed as G Dragon, Seungri's bandmate. Then we have the frames similar to Blackpink. Oh and the fact that the YG Entertainment logo features throughout the video. It's an addictive song with an amusing video to go alongside it.

Eleni Foureira - Fuego

The sixth and final of the 6 superb songs I've been listening to in August has been Eleni Foureira - Fuego. If you watched this year's Eurovision then you'll have spotted this track already. The song placed second behind Netta's Toy which I loved. Another song I loved from the competition was Mikolas Josef – Lie To Me which I mentioned in my May 2018 music favourites. Anyway, Fuego (meaning fire in Spanish) is a dance-pop track with an addictive beat. This is the ultimate dance floor club banger that will make you wanna get your groove on.

What songs have you been loving this month? Do you like K-Pop? What song would you choose if you had to listen to one over and over again?

My Thoughts On The New Track, BTS Idol (It is EPIC!)

BTS Idol Video

When it comes to music taste, my preference is very varied. I like absolutely all sorts, from one extreme to another. Some people may find this weird and bizarre but what I like is what I like. One of the many genres of music I like is K-Pop. That's Korean pop music for those who don't know. Can I understand the language? A little but for the most part, no. However, you don't need to speak or understand Korean to enjoy K-Pop. Trust me. K-Pop is more than just people singing in Korean with the odd English line thrown in for good measure. K-Pop is all about production and concepts. It's impressive, addictive and at times truly mindblowing.

A booming industry with a dark issue

K-Pop artists, or idols as they're known as put in lots and lots of work. They're perfect singers, dancers and visuals. Sometimes idols even produce their own music. They're not one trick ponies. They're super talented and that is because they put in the hard work and hours. Sadly the reality is that some idols are overworked to the point where they are exhausted. Some even end up collapsing on stage. The industry has a big issue with agencies and labels treating their idols like absolute slaves. The whole issue is disgusting and has even lead to idols taking their own lives. All that being said, not all agencies and labels are the devil. Some are ethical and treat their idols fairly with the respect that they deserve.

One of the idol groups who appear to be being treated fairly is BTS. BTS is a favourite of mine. I've written a lot about Bangtan Sonyeondan (That's their Korean name) quite a bit over on my other blog if you want to read even more about the idol group. Basically, there are seven members who are a mix of rappers and singers. They have some absolutely incredible songs. They recently released the final album of their Love Yourself series, titled Love Yourself: Answer. The album features 7 brand spanking new songs as well as a mix of tracks from previous albums. The message of the album is pretty much, you should love yourself before you love anyone else.

Idol is the PERFECT title track

The title track of the album is Idol. Now let me tell you, it is an amazing track. The song is a mix of South African beats, hip-hop and EDM. It is for sure a track that you'll want to shake your booty too. Now I'm not going to lie. After my first watch of the video, I was overwhelmed. There is SO much going on. Seriously you need to watch it like 4 or 5 times just to take in the song. The video is so colourful, there are so many different scenes and easter eggs. This means that you can easily watch the video over and over without tiring of it because you've always got something new to discover. The song basically consists of BTS proclaiming self-love and in their video, they reference many, many things. Interested in the references? You're in luck. I've listed a few below.

References to their previous videos?

  • When the group are sat around the table this could be a reference to their Blood, Sweat and Tears video.
  • In the frame where the group are dressed in beige clothing, this could be a reference to their MIC Drop video. This is because their movements are similar.
  • When Jungkook is standing in front of the green LED lights this could be a reference to their Dope video. This is because the lights are similar to the cage in dope and Jungkook's positioning and movements are identical.
  • Towards the end of the video, the group are huddled together and chanting. This is potentially a reference to their Fire video.
  • When the group are dancing in front of many backing dancers this could be a reference to their Not Today video.
  • In the final scene, the seven men are seen sitting on chairs and crossing their legs. This is almost identical to the Just One Day video.

More potential references

  • In one line J-Hope references Anpanman, a potential nod to their previous song?
  • In another scene, an Airplane flies over. This could be a nod to their track Airplane Pt.2.
  • In one of the shots, the group are sporting Hanboks which is traditional Korean dress, a nod to their roots perhaps?
  • In the same Hanbok wearing scene, Jungkook's stance is as if he's holding a pipe like instrument. Could this be a reference to their song Pied Piper?
  • When RM is seen with filters on his face this could be in reference to when he was on V Live and a fan told him not to use filters on his face.
  • In the video for DNA the group dance under a half-finished yellow construction. In Idol, they dance under a completed yellow construction which looks very similar.
  • Throughout the video, we see a tiger. In Korean culture and history, a tiger is seen as a protective guardian who wards off evil spirits. The tiger is also seen as a symbol of power, courage and luck. A self-reference perhaps?

Even more potential references

  • Throughout the song, we hear traditional Korean sounds as well as the members chanting traditional phrases such as "Ulssu." Another nod to their culture.
  • In one scene there is a rabbit in the moon. This could be a reference to one of many things. The first? A Sailor Moon reference? Sailor Moon's real name is Usagi Tsukino which translates to "Rabbit of the Moon." However, once member V also known as Taehyung stated that he thinks there are rabbits on the moon which soon turned into a meme. However, there could be method to the madness. That is because there is a folklore that is big in Asia that a rabbit lives on the moon. So either the group are showing their love for Sailor Moon (Doubt it), they're referencing the meme or it is a nod to their heritage. My bet is on the last one.
There are SO many other references in the video but it'll take me all day long to sit and list them all. Basically, Idol is an absolute tune. I love the entire video and the song its self is fantastic. I particularly love Jimin's lines as his angelic voice is top notch.

Have you listened to Idol yet? What is your favourite part of the song or video? Whose outfit did you love the most?

Is The Black Lady Funko POP! The Most Beautiful Figure Ever?

Black Lady Funko POP! Figure

After sharing my post on my awesome Deadpool as Bob Ross Funko POP! I figured it was time to show another amazing figure. However, this time I thought I'd talk about one of the prettiest Funkos in my collection. I am of course talking about my Black Lady Funko POP! I've spoken of my love of Sailor Moon before and I am unbelievably close to completing my collection. So when I heard of the release of Black Lady, I knew I had to hop on that bandwagon and get myself a figure.

The problem? The Black Lady Funko POP! was a 2018 San Diago Comic Con exclusive. I genuinely thought my dreams of getting one at a reasonable price were dashes. However, luck was clearly in my corner. One day whilst scrolling on Twitter, amongst the many tweets about Kim's Convenience, sharks and people arguing about Brexit, I spotted a tweet from EMP.

EMP stated they would be exclusively selling various pops and the Black Lady Funko POP! just so happened to be one of them. I was totally and utterly over the moon not only to be one step closer to completing my collection but because this particular figure is stunning. So what did I do? I snapped up the evil grown-up version of Chibiusa Tsukino Funko POP! For £19.99. Not the cheapest figure but I wanted it badly and it could have been A LOT more expensive so I am not complaining.

Potentially the most beautiful figure ever

Black Lady is actually gorgeous. She's got that classic oversized head that all Funko POPs sport and a smaller body. However, in addition to the large head, she has some truly epic baby pink hair. This matches Chibi Moon's perfectly in colour. They are the same person after all, even if Chibi didn't mean to turn into her. But that is a whole other story.

In terms of Black Lady's outfit, she has a long black dress which features some risque side slits, orange sleeves and black cuffs. She is holding a red toned pink scarf, has red heeled shoes and gold and purple earrings. The detail is fabulous on this figure as she even has the black moon mark which is perfectly central between her fringe. She's also got thin brows, some long painted lashes, a cute triangular nose and some slight rosy detailing on her cheeks to create a blush effect.

A Funko POP! stand that works and isn't faulty

Black Lady is seriously pretty, there is no denying it. One thing also worth mentioning is much like the other Sailor Moon figures, with the exception of Tuxedo Mask, she comes with a stand. This is because the characters have slender long legs. That mixed with their large heads means it is impossible for them to stand on their own.

I don't mind the stands as they serve a purpose. They don't exactly look fancy but they get the job done. One thing that really narks me though is when the stands just don't fit. I've had a couple of POPs where I've struggled to fit the stands because the holes haven't been created properly. I've also had it where I've got a figure with two holes but they've been slightly misaligned which is equally as frustrating. Thankfully with Black Lady, the hole provided is perfect and I haven't had any problems getting her on her stand or displaying her.

All in all? I've gotta say I adore Black Lady. She is for sure one of my all-time favourite Funko figures. She came nicely in one piece, EMP did a good job with packaging as the box arrived in mint condition and the attention to detail is impressive.

Are you a Sailor Moon fan? Where you at all surprised when she appeared?

3 Reasons Why Kim's Convenience Is AWESOME

3 Reasons Why Kim's Convenience Is AWESOME

If you've not heard of Kim's Convenience, seriously where have you been? The show has quickly become one of my absolute favourite things to watch on good old Netflix. The series is a Canadian sitcom which follows the lives of the Kim family. They're a Korean Canadian family who run a convenience store in Toronto. There is dad Mr Kim, also known as Appa. Then there is mum Mrs Kim better known as Umma. Next, we have the couple's daughter Janet and their estranged son Jung.

There are also various frequently appearing side characters who are equally as awesome like Kimchee, Jung's best bud and Shannon, Jung's boss. If you aren't already watching the series, seriously, get on it! I love the show and mentioned it recently in my post on tremendous Netflix shows you should watch. But why do I love it so much you ask? Well, there are three main reasons.

You know how in certain shows there is that one character who just makes it all? Like the rest of the cast and characters are excellent but without that one person, the show just wouldn't really work as well? Take the Big Bang Theory for example (R.I.P) without Jim Parsons playing the hilarious quirky character of Sheldon Cooper the show wouldn't have been anywhere near as successful. Well, Mr Kim played by Paul Sun-Hyung Lee is that kind of character. He makes the show have that extra something which makes it so loveable and addictive.

Now by saying that I am not suggesting that the other characters aren't well received. I personally LOVE the cast of this show and feel like each actor and actress pulls off their part phenomenally and that is why the show works so well. They're genuinely like a big family who gel together incredibly which only adds to the show's success. But like I said, for me, Mr Kim is my favourite. He's straight to the point, opinionated, blunt and incredibly funny. Paul Sun-Hyung Lee plays a damn good part.

The show showcases excellent Asian talent

It's not often you see many Asian's on western TV. Especially here in the UK, that is for sure. You know what? It sucks. I believe everyone should be represented well in the Western media, well in all media in fact. I am sick and tired of Asians being snubbed. One thing that especially gets me riled up is when a Western actor or actress is cast for a part of an Asian character. That really grinds my gears. But you know what? Things are changing.

The lead actress Lana Condor from To All The Boys I've Loved Before, an absolutely brilliant film taking the internet by storm, she is Asian. The cast of Crazy Rich Asians? All Asian. Kim's Convenience? The main cast are all Asian and let me tell you, it is great to see. I feel like we are finally starting to head in the right direction when it comes to representation. Don't get me wrong there is still a LONG way to go and this is just the first baby step but nevertheless, it is a step in the right direction.

It is heartwarming

And the third and final reason why I think Kim's Convenience is awesome? It is heartwarming. There are various scenes in which you see the family show love and affection for one and other. This is honestly so lovely. If you're ever feeling down in the dumps and as if the world is all doom and gloom, pop a couple of episodes of Kim's Convenience on. It'll make you giggle and warm your heart. Genuinely yet to come across anyone who doesn't just adore this excellent show.

Are you a Kim's Convenience fan? What character would you most like to meet and have dinner with?

Is The Deadpool as Bob Ross Funko POP! Really THAT Cool?

Deadpool as Bob Ross Funko POP Figure

One of my favourite things in life is collecting Funko POP! Figures. I love the way they look all neatly placed on my shelf, which you can see by checking out my Funko POP! post on my other blog. Yes, I do take them out of the boxes. Do I care? Not really. I know a lot of people take pristine care of each and every one of their figures. They never come out of the box and are stored super carefully. That is great! Whatever floats your boat.

Store your damn Funko POP! Figures how your wanna store them!

However, there seems to be this big no-no about anyone taking their figures out of the boxes. Let me tell you if I wanna take my Funko POP! Figures out the box, I will damn well do so. They're mine and I shall do with them what I like. That doesn't mean to say that I don't take care of my pops just because I have them out on display. Because boy, I do. I love my collection and want to display them so I can see them entirely. If that is so wrong, then I guess I've messed up. Honestly though? I don't care.

ANYWAY! Back in July, I turned 24. To tell the truth, I still feel like an absolute child and haven't quite cracked this whole adulting thing but I am sure I'll get there. My lovely boyfriend Peter very, very kindly got me the Deadpool as Bob Ross Funko POP! and I've gotta say, I absolutely love this little guy. Earlier in the year we went to the cinema for a cute little date and watched Deadpool 2. And let me tell you, it was brilliant. I absolutely love Deadpool. I think he's a refreshing take on your average superhero although at times he is the antihero. His twisted sense of humour is genius and I think Ryan Reynolds plays the character extremely well.

One of the coolest Funko POP! figures in my collection

Hands down Deadpool as Bob Ross is one of my all-time favourite figures in my Funko collection. He is the perfect mix of the disfigured former special forces operative and the late painter who was forever talking about happy little trees. The figure features the standard abnormally large head design as with others in the line. However, because it is a Marvel figure it has a bobblehead. Some people love the bobblehead design, others hate it. I personally love the little twist as I don't own any other bobbleheads.

Unsurprisingly the Funko head is wearing the classic Deadpool mask which I love. As for the rest of the Pop! He sports Bob's classic attire of a buttoned shirt, blue jeans complete with a brown belt and brown shoes. He also holds a paint palette as well as a giant brush. If you love Deadpool and you are a fan of Bob Ross, this is for sure a figure worth getting your hands on because it is truly awesome. So to answer the question, YES the Funko really is THAT cool.

Are you a fan of the DP and BR Funko Pop! Figure? Did you enjoy Deadpool 1 or 2 more? Did you cry at THAT scene? Because I for sure as hell did!
